Argentine govt economist's mysterious death probed (AP)

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina ? Uruguayan investigators are examinining the cell phones and computer of a high-ranking Argentine government economist, seeking a motive for his apparent suicide during an international summit.

A hotel maid found Ivan Heyn's body during the Mercosur summit on Tuesday. Police say he had apparently just taken a shower and that his belt had choked off his air supply, but there were no signs of violence and no suicide note was found.

President Cristina Fernandez said Wednesday that the 34-year-old deputy foreign commerce secretary was like a son, and that word of his death left her feeling unable to breathe.

Heyn was a friend of Maximiliano Kirchner, the president's son.
